Editorial policy
Local Future Guide aims to make thinking about local futures clear, fair and useful. We distinguish what a piece explains from what it proposes, and make room for uncertainty where outcomes cannot be known.
Accuracy and care
We check wording, definitions and factual claims before publication, and avoid presenting a scenario as a forecast. Writers should make the basis of important claims clear and flag uncertainty rather than fill gaps with assumptions. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page; we review credible concerns and amend errors with a clear note when the change affects meaning.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers, not to promise a particular view of the future. Partner material and paid placements are identified clearly where they appear, and are kept distinct from independent editorial work. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or control over unrelated articles.
Images and illustrations
Images should support the subject without implying evidence they do not provide. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where that is the case, they are identified as illustrations and are not presented as documentary photographs.
Corrections and questions
If something seems inaccurate, unclear or incomplete, please describe the passage and the reason for concern through the Contact page. We consider corrections carefully, update material when warranted and aim to make significant changes understandable to readers.
The future starts with better questions
A future is not a prediction to accept. It is a set of possibilities to examine, discuss and revise as circumstances change.
